Workshops with Teatro de la Rosa
An outreach project of the Smoky Hill River Festival
Teatro de la Rosa is a Spanish-speaking theatre troupe from Fort Worth, Texas, and the 2006 winner of the Kennedy Center’s “Coming Up Taller” award, an initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Teatro de la Rosa actors will work throughout the day on June 10th and 11th to give acting workshops — talking about the magical art of storytelling and through a series of games and exercises, to teach confidence, expression, and to empower kids to use their imaginations.
Workshops will happen at locations throughout the community, especially in Hispanic neighborhoods; and in a variety of Salina neighborhoods and organizations.
This workshop is offered free of charge.
June 10 & 11, 2009
Times and Locations TBA

Festival Families First
A grassroots way for those who love the Smoky Hill River Festival to help make it even more accessible to families with needs, this program creates an avenue for button donations. The Festival works with several identified Salina service agencies to provide Festival admission buttons to their clients. Give a dollar, give what you can, to give the gift of the Festival to those who might otherwise never experience it!
Donations may be made by check (marked “Festival Families”) to: Smoky Hill River Festival, P.O. Box 2181, Salina, KS 67402-2181
