Willy Vela was born in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, but spent his formative years in Ciudad Camargo, Chihuahua. His parents deeply influenced his love for music as his mother adored singing, and his father was the composer Homero Vela. Over the years, he honed his skills in singing, playing the bajo sexto, and discovered his own talent for composition. In 1988, Vela’s journey brought him to Kansas City, KS where he formed the group Manantial that recorded two CDs with hits like ‘Mi Amigo el Corazón,’ ‘Pasar y Pasar,’ and ‘Tu Retrato’. The group later parted ways in pursuit of individual dreams leading to Vela founding his own group, Willy Vela Y Sus Aguilillos, with the goal of building his legacy as a solo artist. Since their founding, they have released successful songs such as ‘Aires de Grandeza,’ ‘Como Pagarte,’ ‘Me Robas la Tranquilidad,’ and ‘Rosas Blancas.’ Vela continues to be grateful for the support and enthusiasm of those who have supported his musical journey and is excited to perform!
